SkinScribe is a private tattoo studio owned and operated by Jessica Boyle. Jessica has been tattooing for 14 years and continues to expand her skillset as an artist. As such, she enjoys tattooing in a variety of styles and especially enjoys black-and-gray work, botanicals, custom designs that defy categorization, and anything a little offbeat. Jessica welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with clients on a wide range of projects and strives to make every experience in the chair a pleasant one.
Born and raised in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Jessica has been drawn to the visual and decorative arts as long as she can remember—drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, jewelry making, interior design… The list goes on. As soon as she was of age, Jessica started getting tattooed, and that added another interest to the lineup.
In 2001, she completed her apprenticeship under the tutelage of Mike Bernstein at FineLine Tattoos in Mesquite, Texas and continued tattooing professionally for nine years. In 2010, she left the trade to focus on her children while picking up some writing and proofreading work on the side. In 2019, the kids had grown a good bit, and she was able to return to the tattoo industry full-time.
After working at a shop downtown for five years, Jessica recently opened her own private studio in Raleigh. Eager to funnel her creative energy toward the craft in a cozy but curated environment, she looks forward to bringing your tattoo ideas to fruition.​
